A glimpse into the future… cutting-edge business intelligence! My question: Did they get there in spite of not having a board of directors or because they don’t?
A short while ago, a longtime friend called and asked for 15 minutes of my time – he wanted to demo a product his company had been developing in stealth. What Arvind Agarwalla showed me blew my mind. In essence, it is business intelligence on steroids. Accessing any ERP system such as SAP, Oracle or others, they can deliver any data or report lightning fast. The search is highly intuitive, the same way we interact with search functions or prompts. You can cut and slice your data analytics any conceivable way and truly gain real business insights.
This will be a game changer…
Shortly afterwards, I reverted back to Arvind. Based on my passion for “Making Boards Work”, I asked him to what extent his board of directors played a role in his success.
His response: “No, we do not have a board of directors”.
Next step, I will interview him to learn WHY – because I have many entrepreneurs friends who successfully run their companies without external directors.
And I will share some reasons why to have a board in “Make Boards Work”, stay tuned…
